I think that the teams should go 1-8, 2-7, 3-6, 4-5.
Although it makes very little difference, it makes the brackets easier to set up, as if each number was their seed.

Easy way for the host to be decided:
The higher "seeded" (1 is higher then 2, zomg, even though technically these are not seeds) gets host in game 1, the other in game 2. If a tie braker is required, the team that had the highest margin of victory gets to host the last game (A reward for maybe getting an extra 30 seconds of ball time instead of going for kills when you know the game has been won).
Example: Team A wins their game 50-41 in TS
Team B wins their game 5:00-3:00 in Oddball
Team C wins their game 5-2 in CTF
Team C would get host in the last game (I used 3 teams to show all gametypes)
For the people curious about close games and deciding who is closer when it comes to oddball. 5 minutes is equal to 300 seconds. 300 devided by 6 is equal to 50 (number of kills in a team slayer match usually for the winning team). What ever the margin of diference is between the 2 teams times in oddball, devide that by 6 to getthe margin of victory.
Ex: Game of Oddball
Team A wins 5:00 - 3:20 over Team B
5:00 - 3:20 = 1:40
1:40 = 100 seconds.
100/6 = 16.6
Margin of victory is 16.6
For flag games, it is simple. 5 flag caps is equal to 50. 4 is equal to 40, and so on.
I hope that's explained well, that is how it should be decided, and once it is understood, it is easy and would take less then 1 minute to figure out.
An easier way (unless you guys WANT to do math) is to decide on the best host.
yours,
