I've never played Halo CE on the PC before, (partly because I'm terrible with a mouse and keyboard) but I'm curious to know how the map editor is. Anyone tried using it before?

There is no map editor for Halo PC. Halo Custom Edition allows you to make maps but it is a VERY hard process. Not for the impatient.

Were you able to make any good maps? Or did you not want to deal with the process?

I have halo for pc, and Ive gotten pretty good at it, the one thing thats hard to get use to is depending on the hosts connection, with the sniper and guns ect. you have to constantly shoot a different amount ahead of them, when ur host if it's red you shoot they die, if not you have to anticipate the movement and shoot there, like I said depending on the host u constantly shoot further or closer to the person to hit them...

ANYWAY, I never botherd to try it, and won't, speacially once my xbox arrives...

yours,

what about sparkedit, sapien, or 3ds max if you have and know how to use it, but still sparkedit never failed me.

No, I never even attempted making maps. I tried to mod (which is ok in HPC) but I almost screwed up Halo so I stopped at that and said " I am no modder, I am a Montage Maka!" . Or something like that. :P

BTW my newest HPC montage is in the editing stage!

There isnt a map editor, but there is sparkedit for HaloPC modding.

HaloCE is different.
First, you model the level in a 3d modeling program. Then you export it and type in "tool structure levels\mapname\mapname"

Then you add a sky and starting weapons, then you run radiosity.
Then you populate the map in sapien, then compile the map file in tool.

Its actually pretty simple if you know what you're doing.
