If the game has a built in online multiplayer option then the game has netcoding. I know Halo PC has that, while halo ce for xbox does not.

Gamespy Arcade.
Without it you can't play online
And heres another thing: when halo 1 came out for the xbox, there was no online thing anyway. They made XBC because they could do it, but if I'm correct, it was still a test program for XBL. Then XBL came, a few months, or even years after Halo 1 came out. If Halo 1 would be on XBL, it would be just like Halo 3, since Halo 3's netcode is almost the same as the one Halo 1 has.

@ MuFf1n: You can play Halo without Gamespy Arcade, its basically an old way to get in touch in friends before Halo was supported by Xfire as far as I know. I never actually used it, but from what I heard from BD~ members was that back in [RPC] they would use that to get some games going and to chat.

Then it could just be me, since whenever Gamespy is ****ing up, I can't play online at all.

No, it isn't. Over XBC, the lead is huge. I know, and I don't play on a plasma TV.

That's a pretty crappy point because plenty of people still play Halo PC and we have a close-knitted community.

Yes, it does. More so than on the PC version.

Yeah, but Nessy says he hasn't seen any good XBC montages in a while. Those videos aren't recent.

Halo's net coding still forces you to lead your shots, just not your actions and movement.

The first time I installed GSA it froze my computer and I swear it gave me spyware or something. Off the disk. I could be wrong but I never decided to install it again after that.

i never said you didnt have to lead your shot, what i was replying to was that whoever said there was a delay to everything you did with you controller, please read and understand what is being talked about before you act like you know things, there isnt a delay, but you do have to lead. there is a difference. people still play halo pc, thats true, but not many, did i ever say that not a single person plays it? i just said no one cares about it, and when i said no one, i was implying that the majority of halo players 99% dont care about halo pc because halo is a console shooter. there is a tight knit community that still plays SR, but that doesnt mean its popular. thanks for your time

I said there was a delay, and yes there is. You said no one, and no one is not even one person. 99% of the halo players are Halo 2/3 kids who never even touched a Halo 1 game or played it and hated it because they suck.
And I do hope that you know that there are 10 times more players on Halo pc than on xbox.

out of interest what are we trying to argue about here? Can someone post a summary of what is what here. Trying to argue which is harder? Which takes more skill? Which is "better"?

neither is better, but halo 1 on xbc is harder then halo pc because the lag is way more significant, and you dont have a precise mouse to aim those shots considering you have to lead everything
