Also, when retreating look straight down and throw a grenade so it bounces on the floor. Usually the grenade will blow up right in front of the opponents face.
· Reload faster . Just simply press the reload button and as it is close to finishing press the melee button and then the reload button again. If executed properly you should be able to fire again much sooner.
· Hiding weapons . I recently came upon someone who had done this. Basically during the game he had managed to get a sniper and a shotgun in ascension. He then headed to rockets to see if I had got them. I hadn’t. However, he didn’t want the rockets seeing as he had two perfectly good weapons but he didn’t want me to get them either. SO he jumped down and held X over the rocket and walked forward. The effect of this was that every time he picked up and dropped a weapon the dropped weapon would be pushed forwards. After a matter of seconds he was able to hide the rockets just behind the teleporter. He did this many times over the game, every time they re-spawned, and I never did get those rockets.
· Fast melee then shoot - To shoot instantly from Melee's after Melee's. Great for instant kills but MUST have secondary weapon equipped. Executed by pressing Melee, YY, Shoot.
· Fast melees. By pressing B, X, B, X you will be able to melee much faster because the melee animation is cut short by the reload animation which is once again cut short for the melee animation.

Those are all reeeallly old... but anyway... I'll update you...
1. Frag grenades in 'tight situations'... instead of looking straight down to toss one, if the guy is in range... just bounce a frag off a wall as you're spinning around to go face to face with him, but keep moving away from him as you're doing it, your frag should bounce off the wall, land under his feet, and then you should be able to put a few shots into him to end the kill... much better then just looking straight down and tossing one (cuz grenades willlll bounce off of your knees/feet)
2. Meleeing actually doesn't do a whole lot unless you're going to BxR after your reload... if you just straight melee once MC puts in the clip... the time it takes you to melee, and then retract your melee honestly isn't much faster then if you were just to let the reload animation finish... a lot of time you'll see pros in MLG hit B after a reload... in preperation that if they see someone and need to get the 'quick up' on that person... they can just hit X-R and it actually is faster (not to mention the off-host BxR Reload)
3. Hiding weapons...eehhh... what the one guy did was stupid, because like you said, the rockets kept reloading, not to mention that he was just putting himself in a position where anyone could have dropped a few grenades on him while he was paying attention to where he was moving the rockets, instead of to where people were around him... not to mention that who keeps a shotgun rather then rockets? I guess he just didn't pay any attention to his radar... aaat all...
But if you don't pick up a weapon, and you just grenade it 'into a wall' then it makes the weapon not able to be picked up (unless someone grenades it out of the wall...which in most cases just takes way too much time)... and since you didn't actually pick up the weapon... the 'reset timer' never gets activated... and it just voids the use of the weapon durring a game...
4. Melees... I actually don't even think I've seen many people do that, most people BxR... *shrug* I guess it could work, but it's not too common...
5. BxB... and I honestly don't know anyone who doesn't do it...
